How the Cheetah Got Its Spots Once upon a time, there were a baby cheetah, named Baby Cheetah, and a Mama Cheetah. Mama Cheetah always told Baby Cheetah, "Do not go near the permanent ink bush."But one day, Baby Cheetah told Mama Cheetah that he would be taking a walk. While he was walking, he saw Mr. Snake. He thought about what his mother had told him about the permanent ink bush. So he asked Mr. Snake, "Where is the permanent ink bush?" Mr. Snake told him, "You will find the bush by going through the forest and looking behind the apple tree." So Baby Cheetah walked and walked. Finally, he made it. Baby Cheetah went through the bush. Drips of black permanent ink dripped all over him. He ran home to Mama Cheetah with black spots all over him. Mama Cheetah asked Baby Cheetah why he had black spots all over him. So, Baby Cheetah explained what had happened. He said, "Well this is how I got my spots. First, I was walking in the woods and I bumped into Mr. Snake, so I asked him where the permanent ink bush was. He told me to go through the forest and look behind the apple tree. So I walked and walked. Finally, I was at the permanent ink bush. It looked cool, so I walked through it. And, of course, since it was a permanent ink bush, the ink was--well--permanent." And that's how the cheetah got its spots.
